Company History

The history of Forest Wood Garden as narrated by Mrs. Myrna Katigbak-Frago:

After my marriage with my husband Joel in 1990, I strenuously attempted to go into different profitable ventures, all of which did not make my heart beat with joy.

As I wondered aloud trying to discover the right road to take, the Lord silenced me by putting me where my heart is: the love for nature and the little things my creativity would simply keep me busy - the natural arts.

My delight and fascination for the beauty of God's creation kept me still. Then God gave me a vision, followed by directions.

In time with a small loaned capitalization of 5000PhP ($116.00), Forest Wood sprouted in 1998. The minimal amount bankrolled the procurement of small plants and seedlings to be nursed, replanted and rearranged. Before I realized it, my hobby evolved into a business. Nature and art lovers and those who have eyes that appreciate the color green started to come and traded their money for my work of beauty.

The sprout that used to be nursed and taken cared of with damnation grew up and gained ground with the roots held strongly. Forest Wood now stands firmly, trimmed and pruned to produce and reap more.

My formal training and architecture found its place in the venture. Architectural lines, balance, symmetry, creativity, aesthetics and methodology where fused into the natural elements of life and growth. Eventually, Forest Wood, a plant collection at the start, ascended and grew to become a respected landscaping design and contracting company.

It now stands stronger with an array of well-defined resources of elements, to go harmoniously with any and appropriate schemes, such as abundant varieties of plants, shrubs, trees, soil, red and black volcanic cinder, stones, rocks and boulders, pavers with natural design and patterns. We also design and construct waterfalls and ponds to suit every naturalist’s fantasy of a dream house, a rest and vacation real estate property, a resort, clubhouses, commercial or industrial parks, etc.

More blessings in time. My husband Joel, a nurse by training but a seaman by profession, was similarly worked on by the Lord. He quit his European assignments and put all of himself into Forest Wood. His natural talents and knacks for art sprang out. Easily, his creativity lended so well with the perspectives of Forest Wood. I got astonished with his hard to find materials taking share into sculptures of stone, wood, furniture and other line up of art pieces.

Today, Forest Wood isn't just plants and gardens. It is an Eden, an Eden field with all the beauty of God's creation. A showcase of awe - inspiring rare species of greens, archetypal landscaping concepts, exceptional and superlative wood and stone art - a showcase of a dream collection for everyone with a classy taste for green life and art novae.
